Yes, and we see the results of it regularly. Too much pressure on pavers blasts the joint sand out and leaves visible wand marks, those wavy stripes that never fully disappear because the surface has been eroded unevenly. On stamped or decorative concrete, high pressure lifts the color layer. On older concrete it exposes aggregate and leaves a rough, chalky surface.
The variables are pressure, tip selection, distance and dwell. A skilled operator adjusts all four to the surface in front of them. Do I need to clean before sealing, or is that a separate service?
It is not separate, and you should not pay for it twice. Sealer is not paint. It soaks into the surface and hardens what is already there. If there is algae, dirt or old organic staining in the pores, the sealer locks it in permanently and you are looking at that stain for years.
